Deerfield dropped a tough loss to Choate on Saturday, suffering only its second defeat of the season. Tess Mannix and Whitney Vogt led the charge at #1 doubles with a nice 8-5 win, but Lily Zeng and Ally Kell at #2 and Aurora Devereaux and Anne Fiorini at #3 suffered tough losses 8-2, 8-3, despite good efforts at deuce. In singles, Annabel Gerber at #3 finished up first with a nice 8-3 win. Kylie Kittredge at #4 battled back from an early deficit to nearly stage a full comeback but ultimately lost 8-6 to a talented opponent who withstood Kylie’s toughest tennis! Whitney Vogt dropped her singles match at #2, 8-2. Tess Mannix was the star of the day with a beautiful 8-4 win at #1, keeping her head and staying focused no matter what came her way from Choate! The team ended up with a 3-4 record for the day and looks forward to facing off at home against Eaglebrook Wednesday and the final match of the season away at Andover on Saturday.
