Deerfield faced Longmeadow again this weekend, not having seen them since a preseason scrimmage. The Lancers were still the strong and aggressive team from early April with speed on their attack and in transition. To keep the lead, the Big Green relied on winning face-offs and forcing turnovers in the midfield. Olivia Geraci ’19 demonstrated incredible draw control that allowed us many chances on the attack and defending their transition was an entire team effort. DA’s endurance on the field and patience around the goal proved effective in breaking down Longmeadow. The Big Green ended on top 7-5 at the final whistle. Heading into their last week of play, Deerfield will take on Williston and Exeter at home this week.
