Deerfield baseball dropped a hard fought game this past Saturday 4-3 to the Worcester Hilltoppers at Gaskill Field in Worcester. Deerfield received outstanding pitching performances from David Thomas (5 IP 2 hits 2 earned runs) and Thomas Leimkuhler (1 IP 0 runs). Deerfield fell behind 4-0 early and rallied with 3 runs in the 6th inning. Deerfield outhit the Hilltoppers 3-2 in a very evenly matched game. Left fielder Levi Constant made two outstanding defensive plays in this game. Deerfield’s offense was led by Levi Constant (1 hit), Max Stevens (1 hit), Javier Irizarry (1 RBI) and Andy Pelc (double 2 RBI’s). Deerfield’s record now stands at 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the league.
