Varsity Softball opened their season at home against a tough Cushing squad. Deerfield played well defensively, and did not make an error in the contest. The Penguins jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, capitalizing on aggressive base running and timely hitting to fuel their lead.
Liv Mikesell ’20 and Kaitlin McKenna ’21 both had hits for the Big Green, belting a single and a double, respectively.
Deerfield is back in action this Saturday at Miss Porter’s School.
