Lacrosse, Girls: Varsity loses to Taft

Event Details

We suffered a tough 7-6 loss against Taft today.  We were not at our best, unfortunately, and performed below our potential in a variety of areas. Shot placement, in particular, was a significant struggle for the Big Green.  To their credit, the Rhinos came out firing on all cylinders and maintained this drive throughout the game.   Moving forward, we will take important lessons from the day’s result and use the disappointment to continue growing both as individual players and as a team.

The Captains named Mae Emerson as the Play Tough Player of the Game.  In addition to being a gifted and hard working athlete, Mae is a relentlessly positive and supportive teammate.  In her role as a defender, Mae’s encouragement and upbeat approach go a long way in dictating the culture of our defensive unit.  She had a strong performance today, and her hustle produced multiple Deerfield possession opportunities.   In announcing our PTPOG, the captains said she was deserving of the honor, “hands down.”
