The Deerfield Academy varsity baseball team pounded out 10 hits in a thrilling 8-7 come from behind road victory over Choate on Wednesday. DA erased an early 5-0 deficit with 3 runs in the 4th inning and 5 runs in the 5th inning. The offense was led by post-graduate Matt Shea (3-4 3 RBI’s), junior Jack O’Neil (2 RBI’s), junior David Thomas (2 runs scored) and sophomore Andy Pelc (2 runs scored). This was a total team effort that included eight hitters registering at least 1 hit in the game. Junior Matt Gardner earned the win in relief and sophomore Tommy Leimkuhler registered a six out save. Deerfield is now 6-2 on the season. Next up is a double-header at home this Saturday vs Exeter.
