Deerfield’s JV swim team participated in the Nick Whyte Invitational, a six team sprint meet where Deerfield’s swimmers performed well and earned a 3rd place finish overall. A feature of the meet is the pentathlon, an event in which a swimmer swims five races and the fastest sum total is the winner. Deerfield’s pentathletes included Kylie Kittredge who was 23rd, Grace Mazur who was 21st, Cam Howe, who was 8th, and Lucy Miquel who was 4th for the women. Ian Gordon was the sole Deerfield entrant for the men, and he finished 17th. Additional featured performances include a 12th place finish from up-and-comer Ismay Andersen in the 50 free. Declan Cullinane was 5th in the 50 backstroke, 2nd in the 50 freestyle, and 1st in the 50 butterfly. Lucy Miquel won the 50 butterfly for the women as well. Deerfield relays swam well. The 200 freestyle relay was 3rd. The 200 Medley relay was first.
