The Big Green got its second win of the season in a 6-1 rout of Milton on Wednesday afternoon. Grace Russell ’21 fought heroically at the #2 spot for a 3-2 win, going to five games again and staying strong when it counted. Senior Esme Benjamin had a nice 3-0 win at #3, featuring an exciting 13-11 second game before she sealed her victory in the third. At #4, junior Camille Glatt won in 4, dropping the first game but heating up and going on a decisive three-game run to win. At #5, senior Janis Chen won in 5 in a great display of strength and competition. Senior Christina Li fell 3-1 at the #1 spot, but JV’s wins added to two 3-0 wins from varsity players in the continuous ladder spelled a decisive victory anyway. In exhibition, Lilly Berry ’21 battled through a 5-game match, trading games before falling in the fifth, while Caroline Hoff ’22 put together a solid 3-0 win. Delighted to build on the success of their first match, the team eagerly anticipates its coming matchup with Loomis.
