Deerfield Girls Hockey took on a talented Nobles squad in front of an enthusiastic crowd at home on Friday night. Though Nobles scored a goal off the opening face off, we quickly settled in and played a fast-paced, back-and-forth first period. The second period saw us earn several power play opportunities, but we struggled with execution, leading to a short-handed goal against. We were able to cut the lead in half while on the power play, as CC Deslauriers ’23 went end-to-end and scored a beautiful unassisted goal, the first of her Deerfield career. The visitors scored a third goal toward the end of the second period, and despite lots of good pressure in the third period, we were unable to close the gap. Emma Tennant ’21 was excellent in goal, and Lisa Ito-Bagshaw ’22 was an absolute rock star in her first game at center. Thank you to the Hallorans for the wraps, fruit and brownies after the game. Next up is BB&N at home on Saturday afternoon.
