Playing in our second scrimmage on consecutive practice days the team was hoping to pick up where they left off at Westfield the previous Friday night. Greenfield played their top 2-3 lines fairly consistently and they proved to be a strong opponent. We played three periods and were also able to have some time playing our opponents in a variety of special teams options as well.
Alex Leong and Lawrence von Steuben shared the goaltending responsibilities and both did very well keeping the Greenfield attack off the scoreboard. Once again, we played the entire lineup giving everyone the opportunity to show their coaches what they are capable of. In the end, we were pleased with the effort we got from all the players. We stayed away from penalties, played with greater intensity in our defensive zone, and allowed fewer scoring chances for our opponent than in the previous scrimmage.
The team opens their season on Wednesday travelling up the hill to play Eaglebrook at 3:00 p.m.
