Semifinals: #5 Deerfield @ #1 Exeter

Travelling to face Exeter in the semifinals of the NEPSGVA Class A tournament, #5-seeded Deerfield lost to the #1-seed in straight sets.
Playing against a talented Exeter squad, Deerfield was able to use its serving to put them on the defensive, but Exeter’s quick sets at the net allowed them to attack strongly and put the ball down effectively. When Deerfield got into a rhythm there was excellent back-and-forth volleyball, but Exeter was able to be more consistent on their way to victory.
Congratulations to Exeter as they progress to the finals on Sunday.
Every playoff team except one ends their season with a loss; it’s a hard way to end a successful year, but the reality of getting to the postseason. We salute our four graduating seniors: Lara Akande, Nat Jimenez, Izzy McDonald, and Camila Navarro.
