Deerfield traveled up the road for a midweek contest against an undefeated NMH team and with an opportunity to be upset the home team. With a beautiful grass field, blue skies and no wind to speak of, playing conditions were ideal. The first half was a difficult one for the Big Green, as several very talented NMH players were able to receive and distribute the ball seemingly at will. Such play resulted in two goals scored against DA midway through the first half. The second half was a more balanced affair, with both teams creating scoring opportunities and defending valiantly. In the end, the Big Green was unable to get on the scoreboard and the match ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts.
Deerfield now looks ahead to a classic, end-of-season, home match that pits The Big Green against its arch-rival, Choate Rosemary Hall.
