On Wednesday, November 6, Boys’ Junior B soccer hosted Cushing Academy for its final game of the season, with a 3 PM kickoff. Deerfield got off to an early lead with goals by Tysean Price ’22 (5th minute) and George Fauver ’22 (11th minute). In the 12th minute, Cushing scored, bringing Deerfield’s lead to only 2-1, and seemed poised to rally. But Alioune Dia ’22 (21st minute) and Alejandro Simon (33rd minute) solidified DA’s lead with a pair of goals, and DA was up 4-1 at halftime.

The second quarter saw more scoring by Deerfield. In the 3rd minute, Matt Fierro ’22 scored, followed in the 5th minute by a goal by Hugo Nutting ’22, bringing Deerfield’s load to 6-1. In the 18th minute, Alex Judelson ’22 scored, with an assist by Felix Rockefeller ’23. Will Stultz scored at the 27th minute, brining Deerfield’s lead to 8-1. In the 28th minute, Cushing scored their second goal of the game, followed shortly after by another goal in the 32nd minute (score: 8-3). Matt Fierro ’22 scored his second goal of the game in the 33rd minute (score: 9-3), followed by a final Cushing goal in the remainder of the second half.

With its victory over Cushing (9-4), Deerfield Boys’ Junior B soccer completed its historic, undefeated season.
