After having won their first game of the season, Deerfield Thirds Volleyball defeated Marianapolis Preparatory 3-0 in the Hale Gymnasium to win their second game in a row. The team shows no quit after bouncing back from a difficult start to the season. Their confidence from the last game carried over, as Sally Rolland (‘23), Anastasia Arefyeva (‘22), and Olivia Konar (‘22) won at least 5 consecutive points each with their accurate and consistent serves. For Olivia, this was the first match in which she tested her new overhand serve, which proved devastating to the Marianapolis back row. In the third set, Hannah Mckie (‘22) had a serve at a crucial point which went up and over the rafters, narrowly missing the ceiling, basketball hoop, and steel structures, and came barrelling down for an ace. Boosted by the incredible serve, Deerfield stream rolled through the rest of the set to win 3-0. Deerfield Thirds Volleyball looks to keep extend their streak this Saturday at Loomis.
