Soccer, Girls: Varsity loses to Buckingham Browne and Nichols School

Event Details

On a quintessential fall afternoon, the Big Green took on Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N) for a mid-week contest. The first half-hour of play was greatly contested by both sides. For the first 10-minutes of the match, the Knights dominated possession but the Big Green defense held them to only shots from range and they were unable to capitalize. Deerfield began finding attacking outlets through Katy Gilbert and Jackson Kinsler’s offensive energy. Around the 30-minute mark, both Deerfield and BB&N suffered player injuries altering the trajectory of the game. To end the first half, the Knights were able to find the back of the net and did the same in the second half with the final score finishing at 7-0 in their favor. The Big Green showed their resilience as a team and kept pressing on the attack through the final minutes of play hoping to pull one back. The Big Green will return to action as they will face Phillips Andover on Sunday, October 27th at 1:00 PM on Jamie Kapteyn Field.
