On October 23rd, Deerfield Academy Boys Junior B soccer hosted Suffield Academy for a 3 PM kickoff. The game was the teams’ second of the season: on September 28, DA defeated Suffield 2-1 on the road.
The first twelve minutes of the first half saw Deerfield consistently maintain possession of the ball but fail to score. At the thirteenth minute, Tripp Didden ’22 scored DA’s goal. More followed: at the twenty fourth minute, Matt Fierro ’22 scored, solidifying DA’s lead, and at the thirty first minute George Darling ’22 scored, giving Deerfield a 3-0 lead at halftime.
The second half saw DA continue its rally. In just the second minute of the second half, Tripp Didden ’22 scored his second goal (4-0); in the fifth minute Matt Fierro ’22 scored his second goal of the game (5-0). In the twelfth minute, Alioune Dia ’22 continued the rally (6-0), followed shortly after by Chris Gergis ’22 (7-0), with an assist by Brendan Butz ’23. With one minute left, George Darling ’22 scored his second goal of the game, with an assist by Tysean Price ’22 (8-0), followed by a goal by Ford Holmén ’22 to cap off DA’s victory 9-0 against Deerfield.
