On Wednesday, October 30, Bement hosted Deerfield Boys’ Junior B soccer for a 3:00 kickoff, their second match of the season. For the first twenty minutes, Bement largely maintained possession of the ball, threatening Deerfield’s goal several times. With thirteen minutes remaining, Jack Willett ’23 scored, followed by Felix Rockefeller ’23 several minutes later, bring DA to a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Ten minutes into the second half, DA’s lead was threatened when Bement scored on a penalty kick (2-1). DA rallied in the last twenty minutes of the match, however, securing its lead: with nineteen minutes remaining, George Fauver ’22 scored, bringing Deerfield’s lead to a more comfortable 3-1. The final five minutes saw two more goals, one scored by Stephen Cooley ’23 (4-1) and another by Alex Lim ’22 (5-1).

Deerfield Boys’ Junior B soccer remains undefeated and looks forward to its final match of the season next week against Cushing Academy.
