On October 9th, Deerfield Academy Junior Boys B soccer hosted The Bement School’s varsity team for a 3 pm kickoff. The sky was overcast and the weather was chilly, but the soccer field afforded a spectacular view of the surrounding fall foliage.
The first half was scoreless, with Bement maintaining possession of the ball and consistently threatening DA’s goal.
After a strategy session over halftime, DA ramped up its offense with two goals: Matthew Fierro ’22 scored at the 8th minute and Felix Rockefeller ’23 scored at the 31st minute for a 2-0 lead. Bement was awarded a penalty kick at the 32nd minute and seemed likely to be paving the way to a tie, but Jack Chorske ’22 performed an impressive save to maintain DA’s two goal lead for the rest of the game.
With its victory 2-0 over Bement, Juniors Boys B soccer remains undefeated.
