The Boys Junior A Soccer team dropped its contest against Northfield Mount Hermon 2–0 at home on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. The team struggled to move the ball quickly and effectively and got beaten by an aggressive NMH defense. Outside midfielder Tom Spater stood out in the defeat by showing tons of hustle, finding holes in the defensive line, and making the team’s best-looking slide tackle of the season. Fellow ninth-grader Darien Chiang also impressed with his energetic play and dogged resolve. Senior Jared Faux at forward ran hard from start to finish and smartly made some great feeds to his teammates when he was under pressure. Deerfield looks forward to regrouping in practice tomorrow and finding more success down at Wilbraham & Monson Academy on Saturday.
