Deerfield earned their 2nd home win of the season, shutting out Philips Andover by a score of 14-0. On a cold, wet day both offenses had a hard time getting things going. RB Griffin Schutz scored both touchdowns on the ground for Deerfield. The first was a 17 yard run in the first quarter. The second touchdown came on a 60 yard run on the opening possession of the 3rd quarter. The defense did a great job in pass coverage. CB Porter Hollen and CB Donnie Gray had numerous pass break ups. FS Luke Terry had 2 INTs. A big difference in the game was punter Matt Pecora. He was called upon numerous times and had some of his longest punts of the season in tough kicking conditions. Matt also made his first start of the season at LB and was a key factor in Deerfield’s 3rd shutout of the season.
