The JV Football team hosted a solid Suffield Tigers program this afternoon at Jim Smith Field. With rain in the forecast, the Big Green took the field prepared to give it their all in wet and sloppy conditions.
DA’s stingy defense took the field first and set the tone for the game. The Doors, shut the door on the Tigers today in the rain. Garrett DeMallie ‘21 was a force all over the field. He made play after play from his outside linebacker spot! John Patton ‘23 stepped up and filled an important role at defensive end and had many tackles for loss. DA forced a three and out on the first series to give their offense great field position. The Green Machine would stick to their identity and run the ball down the field. Credit to the offensive line who dominated the line of scrimmage today. Chad Ho ‘21 stepped up in a big way today for the guys in green. The trio of backs, Pang ‘22, Rooney ‘23, and Bunten ‘23 ran behind Ho ‘21 all game long. DA got out to a lead early and never looked back! A big Drew Wierzbicki ‘21 touchdown catch on 4th down sealed the game in the early part of the 4th quarter. A shout out to Cooper Pertchik ‘22 who played both sides of the ball all game long! The boys played hard, won the game 30-0, and have come together as a team. We look forward to a week off before a long road trip up to play the Cardigan Mt. School Cougars!
