Saturday saw a strong showing from Deerfield’s JV team on the road against Westminster in a 5-2 victory. In the evens, sophomore Talbot von Stade at #2, senior co-captain Olivia Geraci at #4, and junior Janis Chen at #6 took care of business. Geraci had an incredibly tight five-game match that required her to work for every point, and she truly earned her win. In the odds, ninth-grader and #1 Daly Baker got another nice 3-0 win, adding to her season’s collection of bagels along the way. At #3, senior co-captain Isabella Geraci cranked out Deerfield’s fifth point of the day. #5, senior Cameron Garner, and #7, sophomore Emma Johnson, suffered tough losses. In exhibition, junior Helen Mak and ninth-grade Caroline Hoff had nice wins in two, while sophomore Daisy Dundas gave her opponent a good fight to lock things up 1-1 but ultimately fell in the third game. The team looks forward to hosting Westminster in a week!
