On January 16th, the boys 3rds basketball team traveled to Cushing for a 3 pm start, knowing that a loss would drop their record to .500 on the season. Deerfield responded, barely holding on to an 18-point halftime lead and winning 37-34 to move to 4-2 on the season. After spotting the home team 3 points, Deerfield went on a 17-0 run to take control of the game. Dylan Bane ’20 had most of his 17 points during the run, including hitting 4 out of 5 3-pointers. Deerfield went ice cold after the break, only scoring 5 points in the 2nd half, but never allowing Cushing to take the lead. Although Bane was the only player in double figures, scoring was well-distributed across 9 players, with Michael Fadugbagbe ’21 chipping in 5. The boys 3rds team will be back at the Barn for a 2 pm tipoff on January 19th against Eagle Hill, a team they already defeated on the road 42-33 earlier in the season.
