The varsity volleyball team hit the road again for a trip to central Massachusetts to take on the Rams of Worcester Academy, where Deerfield emerged victorious, 3-1.
Looking to build on their play from this past weekend, Deerfield came out strong in the 1st set. Rosa Sun ‘21 was able to move the ball around effectively and establish a connection with our hitters, particularly Georgia Quesnelle ‘19, Kaelene Spang ‘19, and Abby Bracken ‘19. As the 2nd set opened, Deerfield again started out strong, but Worcester did a great job of keeping the ball off the floor and the hosts were able to battle back and win the 2nd set.
Continuing to establish the tone for this season, Deerfield proceeded to take control of the match in the 3rd and 4th sets, moving out to leads and never relinquishing them. Camila Navarro ‘20 brought huge cheers from the bench as she went on a 15-point service run during the 4th set.
On Saturday, volleyball travels to Pomfret for matches against Pomfret School and Sacred Heart.
