Deerfield dropped a non-league game to visiting Avon 11-2. Jeff MacDonald and Owen MacPhee each had 2 hits, with MacPhee scoring 2 runs and stealing a base. Coleman Shea started the game was the sharpest he’s been all season. The Avon bats just put the ball in play all afternoon. Griffin McDowell and Jared Pantalony pitched the final 3 innings in relief.
