A great day for the Big Green began at noon with a wonderful tailgate. Thanks so much to the Norris and Jones families for orchestrating the gathering, and thank you to all of the parents for bringing the grilled items, fruit, pasta salad, and cookies. The fun continued down on Fair field for our Parents’ Weekend contest against Taft. The game began somewhat evenly, and the score was 2 -2 after the first ten minutes of play. From that point on, however, the Deerfield offense began connecting in the 8 and pulled away consistently until the game’s conclusion. The Deerfield defense again proved to be a powerful and consistent force that produced repeated possessions for our middies. The Captains honored the defensive grit in our post-game huddle and landed on Elizabeth Hernberg as the Give More player of the day. Elizabeth dug deep throughout the contest and achieved multiple interceptions in settled defensive play. It was a well-earned team win.
