The Big Green played well against rival Choate Rosemary Hall in Saturday’s contest. The opening minutes of the game felt balanced as the scoring went back and forth and landed in a 3-3 tie early in the half. As the 2nd quarter unfolded, however, Deerfield pulled forward steadily and never looked back. Midfield passing sequences were on point for the Big Green, and crisp ball movement in the attacking zone echoed this execution in the midfield. Our defensive pressure and goalie saves proved consistent and on par with the ferocity of previous contests and often resulted in positive turnovers. Scoring was distributed amongst 7 players. Overall, it was a well-played game and a strong team win. The Captains named Mimi Pastor as the Give More Player of the Day for her explosiveness in the midfield and enthusiastic willingness to play any position on the field.
