Deerfield lost their first league game of the year to Providence Country Day by a score of 20-12. PCD racked up 21 hits, scoring at least two runs in every inning except the 4^th inning. Deerfield collected 13 hits of their own, but sloppy defense to the tune of 4 errors proved to be too much to overcome in the second game of the Saturday double header. Mike Bevino, Andy Pelc and Javy Irizarry each had two hits a piece. David Thomas was the only Deerfield hitter with 2 RBI. Five different pitchers saw action for Deerfield in the game.
