Jared Pantalony pitched a complete game 4 hitter for the first league win of the season against Cushing Academy. Pantalony struck out 5 batters and the only run Cushing scored was unearned. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the 5th inning when Deerfield broke the game open with 4 runs. The first run came when David Thomas drew a bases loaded walk to put Deerfield ahead 2-1. Mike Bevino came up next and hit a bases clearing triple to left field to break the game open and give Deerfield a 4 run lead. Bevino finished the game with 2 hits and 3 RBI and SS Chris Camelio also picked up 2 hits on the afternoon. Deerfield was sharp all day in the field on a cold, sunny, and windy day.
