The score after period 1 was 1-0 in favor of the home team Westminster. Both teams were playing like the game had meaning. The pace was swift and every loose puck was battled for.
Senior Andrew Peck was in the nets starting his last high school hockey game. He was outstanding all game long and as the Westminster team warmed up, so did Andrew! Another senior playing in his last high school hockey game was Jake Presnal. He led this team all season with his no-nonsense style of play. Jake didn’t disappoint in his last appearance on the ice as he created many scoring opportunities throughout the afternoon through his hustle and hard work.
The second and third periods saw Westminster begin to take control of the game. Their depth was the key to today’s win for them. The Deerfield team can hold their head high giving Westminster all they could handle and scoring the last goal of the game late in the third period.
Thanks to everyone on the team for a great season. Waking up early for practices kept the team on its toes all winter and this group never stopped working hard and having fun.
Great job to them all! See you next winter!
