On Saturday, February 10th, the boys thirds basketball team hosted Suffield Academy at home in the west gym for a 2:30 tip off. The team was eager to play Suffield again, after dropping a tight 2-point game on the road on January 13th. Unfortunately, despite some solid play and a near-comeback, Suffield prevailed 48-38, dropping Deerfield to 4-6 on the season. Deerfield fell behind by 17 midway through the second half and was able to cut the deficit to 5, but couldn’t get any closer. The team was led by Lorenzo Biondo ’21 with 9 points and Chase Mathis ’21 with 8 points. The boys thirds team will be back on the court on 2/14 with a home game against Northfield Mount Hermon at 2:30 pm.
