On Wednesday, February 14th, the boys thirds basketball team hosted Northfield Mount Hermon in the return of a home-and-home series. NMH won the game at home earlier in the season 40-33. In a back and forth game that featured a Deerfield near-comeback from a 12-point deficit, NMH eventually prevailed 46-43, dropping Deerfield’s season record to 4-7. Deerfield had numerous chances in the last couple of minutes to hit a tying 3-pointer, but was unable to complete the comeback. Deerfield was led by Crawford Rice ’21, who hit 5 straight shots in the second half, with 10 points, while Dylan Bane ’20, Rian Bogle ’19 and Henry Renelus ’20 each contributed 6. The boys thirds team will be back on the court on 2/17 for the last home game of the season against Choate Rosemary Hall in the west gym at 1 pm.
