On Saturday, February 17th, the boys thirds basketball team hosted rival Choate Rosemary Hall in the west gym for a 1 pm tipoff. Deerfield improved their season record to 5-7 with a 57-42 victory, after leading by 9 at half-time. After jumping out to a 24-7 lead and threatening to put the game away early, Deerfield let Choate back into the game and didn’t secure the win until the last few minutes of the second half, closing with a big run for the 15-point win. For the first time all season, Deerfield had two double-digit scorers, with Crawford Rice ’21 netting 15 points and Henry Renelus ’20 contributing 10 points. The boys thirds team will be back on the court for the season finale on 2/21 on the road against Loomis at 2:45.
