After a tough battle against Nobles on Friday night, Deerfield Hockey woke up refreshed and ready to take on a strong BB&N team. After a wonderful pregame meal at the Mullowneys, which included a rowdy round of Charades and Heads Up, we headed to the rink to get to work. We came out flying, and pinned the home team in their zone for four straight shifts. A timeout seemed to change the momentum, however, and we spent the rest of the game on our heels. Consistency continues to elude us, and for whatever reason we didn’t have the intensity and urgency necessary to compete today. BB&N scored two goals in the second, both on rebounds, and that would hold up for the rest of the game. Mary Edmonds ‘19 earned the “hard hat” from her teammates for grit all over the ice, and Jordan Manning ‘19 was solid in goal for the Big Green. We will get back to work on Monday in preparation for five games in four days. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the Mullowney family for hosting us for such a lovely meal, and for keeping us fed all weekend long!
