Boys JV hockey hosted Pope Francis High School JV team here on Friday and skated away with a 4-2 victory. The game was a close one and it wasn’t until Will Dale scored the empty netter as time ran out in the game when we knew what the outcome would be. Colin Olson received the game puck today for his solid play between the pipes. The Pope Francis team really came alive in the second period and created several good scoring chances. Deerfield got two goals on the night from Garrett Moe who returned to the lineup after missing Wednesday’s game with a finger injury. The line of Moe, Dale and Shea created lots of scoring opportunities throughout this game and would wind up scoring three of the team’s four goals. Andy Han notched his second goal of the season late in the second period giving Deerfield a 2-1 leading heading in to the ice cut after the second period. The team returns to the ice for a Saturday afternoon game with arch-rival Choate. This is always a good game. Puck drops at 4:30!
