On Wednesday, December 12th, the boys 3rds basketball team traveled to Hardwick to face the Eagle Hill School at 3 pm. After a tight first half, Deerfield pulled out a 42-33 win to even their record at .500 for the season. Both teams were struggled in the first half, resulting in an 11-8 Deerfield lead at the break. Deerfield had a tough time even getting shots off, taking only 12 and not getting to the free throw line at all. Fortunately, the defense played well, limiting Eagle Hill to only 3 field goals on 33 shots. Both teams shot much better in the second half, with Eagle Hill briefly taking a small lead, before Deerfield went on a late run to finish with the 9-point win. Deerfield had two scorers in double figures, with Jasper McPhee ’22 putting up 14 points and David Thomas ’20 adding 11. After the winter break, the boys 3rds basketball team will be back in action on January 5th, with a 3 pm game at home against local rival Eaglebrook.
