On the road again, the DA Reserves started off strong against the Loomis Pelicans on their island turf. Striker Grace Honos, once again, led the Deerfield attack, putting in two goals early in the half, with offensive help from wing-mids Sophia Knoblock and Annie Ott and center mid Kate Alonso. Despite the tough defensive effort from Maddie Poole, Julia Hioe, Lila Nottage and Piper Day, Loomis rallied to tie up the game 2-2 at the half. Loomis made the most of the home field advantage in the second half as a flock of geese bombarded the Deerfield bench. Using her quick reflexes, Kami Meier defended herself from the goose bombs with a handy sweatshirt. Meanwhile Loomis scored more, giving them the 4-2 win. But with their indomitable spirit, Deerfield is eager to take on Choate.
