Hosting the Williston Wildcats on Wednesday, Deerfield varsity volleyball emerged victorious by a score of 3-0.

Making her debut as a setter, Natsumi Shindo ‘20 was able to serve strongly and move the ball around during the first set to our front-row hitters, particularly right-side hitter Abby Bracken ‘19. With balls coming over the net at unusual times from the Williston squad, Deerfield players had to focus on their own play and were able to make the adjustments needed for this match. Taking control of the match with strong serving, Deerfield was able to run more creative offensive plays. Tory Hansen ‘21 saw her first action of the season and Michelle Zimmerman ‘21 made sure her presence was felt at the net.

On Saturday, Deerfield will host a currently-undefeated St. Paul’s team; game time is 4:15 pm.
