Deerfield traveled to Suffield Academy on Wednesday for a Halloween match up against the Tigers. Both teams came out fast and fierce, moving the ball quickly to produce scoring opportunities. The keeper for Big Green, Molly Fischer ‘20, effectively shut down shots from the Suffield attack in the first 40 minutes and continued to play aggressively the whole game. Deerfield’s rapid transitions from defense to midfielders and forwards helped them break down the Suffield sweeper and get a few shots off before the end of the half. Emma Reavis ‘19 was particularly helpful in bringing energy to the attacking third. The game remained scoreless through the second half with momentum swinging both ways. Annie Kane ‘20 had a close opportunity towards the end of the second half 1v1 with the keeper that just missed the net. DA will be back at home on Sunday facing Hotchkiss at 1pm.
