The Loomis Chaffee Thirds team arrived for Deerfield’s Family Weekend with only 9 players, so the DA Reserves moved to a smaller field for an 8 v. 8 matchup. The 9 Pelicans proved skillful and dominated most of the game. The DA Doors, playing a different system on the smaller field, struggled to communicate effectively, even after practicing saying “I’ve got it!” at halftime. Trying to take advantage of having a larger squad, the DA coaches substituted players frequently, but the shorter shifts/fresh legs strategy didn’t pay off in the end. Loomis Chaffee went home with a 4-0 win.
