On Saturday, October 20th, the boys junior B soccer team traveled up the hill to face the same Eaglebrook School team that they had drawn with the week before. Unfortunately, the rematch didn’t go nearly as well, as Deerfield dropped a 3-0 decision. Eaglebrook scored two early goals to put Deerfield into a quick hole, finding the back of the net in the 5th and 9th minutes. The next twenty minutes of game time was even, as Deerfield had several good chances around the goal, but just couldn’t get on the board. A hand ball in the box gave Eaglebrook a penalty kick in the 30th minute (the first one against Deerfield this season) which was converted, staking the hosts to a 3-0 lead at half-time. Deerfield continued to get some good chances in the 2nd half, but were unable to cut into the lead, despite keeping the ball in the Eaglebrook end of the field for most of the half. With the loss, the team’s record now stands at 3-3-2 with another chance to avenge a loss from earlier in the season on October 24th with a 3 pm start on the road against Suffield.
