Deerfield improved to 3-1 on the season after a 35-8 victory over Worcester Academy. The Deerfield defense didn’t surrender a point all afternoon and four different Deerfield offensive players scored touchdowns. Wide receiver Donnie Gray ’21 and wide receiver Quinton Quirrenbach ’19 caught touchdown passes and quarterback Jack Bill ’19 and running back Griffin Schutz ’21 both rushed for touchdowns. Linebacker Max Stevens ’20 intercepted a Worcester Academy pass and took it 70 yards for a touchdown. Kicker Matt Shea ’19 was perfect on all 5 extra point attempts. Along with Stevens’ interception, the Deerfield defense caused 2 more turnovers. Cornerback Donnie Gray intercepted his second pass of the season and defensive end Garrett Alexander recovered a fumble in the 3rd quarter. Deerfield looks to make it 3 wins in a row against Loomis at home this Saturday.
