Deerfield improved to 4-1 on the season after a convincing 28-7 victory over Loomis Chaffee. Tight end Bennett Pitcher ’21 got the scoring started with an 8 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jack Bill ’19. The touchdown was the first of Bennet’s season and first of his career on the varsity team. Pitcher finished the day with the most catches and yards amongst all Deerfield receivers. Quarterback Jack Bill opened the 2nd half with a 71 yard run to make the score 21-7. Griffin Schutz ’21 added a rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter to put Deerfield up for good at 28-7. Corner back Donnie Gray ’21 continued his streak of interceptions, getting two in the first half and returning one of them for a touchdown. On the day, the Deerfield defense forced 4 turnovers and made things difficult for the Loomis offense. Deerfield goes on the road this Saturday to face Philips Exeter at 5pm.
