On Saturday afternoon, Deerfield travelled east to Andover and endured a 39-22 road loss. In the early going, Andover leapt out to an 8-0 lead before Deerfield settled into the fast and physical game. The game featured strong athleticism on both sides as shots and rebounds were contested throughout the afternoon. Nothing came easy. Vera Grace Menafee ’20 led all Deerfield scorers with 10 points, while Andover’s Katherine Marquis ’21 netted a game-high 23. Andover’s speed limited Deerfield’s scoring in transition while enabling the Blue to make transition layups and to push the pace of play. The Green looks to rebound on its home court in a contest against Frontier Regional.
