Deerfield came out hot against a strong and balanced Hotchkiss team in front of a packed Friday night crowd in Lakeville Connecticut. With stifling defense and great ball movement on the offensive end, Deerfield opened up a 15-point lead by halftime. Unfortunately, the Hotchkiss squad returned the favor, starting the second half on a 9-0 run. The game ultimately came down to the final possession with Deerfield having the ball with an opportunity to tie the game, before a Hotchkiss steal and layup sealed a hard-fought win for the Bearcats. Bennett Pitcher led Deerfield scorers with 16 points. Jackson Pitcher hit 4 three-pointers in his first game back from a broken elbow. Nick Osarenren pitched in with 12 points and Colman Shea added eleven points to Deerfield’s tally.
