Deerfield traveled to NEPSAC AA power Cushing for a spirited, hard fought contest. The Big Green struggled to find its bearings against the Penguin’s up-tempo offensive scheme and stifling man-to-man defense. Trailing by 26 points midway through the first half, Deerfield refused to fold, launching a gritty, 10-1 run to finish the first half. With the slashing scoring of Nick Osarenren, several big buckets and defense plays by Colman Shea, and a dominating rebounding effort by Bennett Pitcher, Deerfield cut the deficit to four points, 57-53, with four minutes to play. Unfortunately, Cushing had one last run in reserve, stretching the final margin to 11 points.
