On Saturday, January 6th, the boys thirds basketball team traveled up the hill for a 2 pm game against the varsity squad of the Eaglebrook School. Deerfield lost 81-38 and dropped to 1-2 on the season. Although the team was clearly over matched, they fought hard and only trailed by 6 at the half, 33-27. The second half was a different story, however, and Deerfield was unable to keep pace with the Eaglebrook attack. Chase Mathis ’21 led the way for Deerfield with 11 points, with Darrell Dartey ’20 chipping in 7 and Ben Chen ’21 contributing 6. The boys thirds basketball team will be back on the court on January 10th for a 3:30 home game against Avon Old Farms.
