Deerfield had a great day against some good competition. The team finished 3-1 on the day. We went up against some teams that we don’t normally see in a season, and some that we will see again in a few weeks. We started off the day very strong against Ethel Walker, with Junior captain Georgia Quesnelle hitting at 83%, senior Captain Kiana Rawji getting 15 assists, Senior Abby Bracken going on a 10 serve run, and a new Junior Melissa Mitrovic hitting at 80%.
Next up we played Williston, where our serving took off, and with only 5 serving errors we were able to easily come away with the win.
Loomis proved to be our biggest challenge of the day. We had some younger players step up, including ninth graders Michelle Zimmermann and Rosa Sun. Though we ultimately lost the game, we finished the game strong closing the deficit by a good amount.
Our final game of the day was against Suffield. The girls put in a complete team effort as we ended the day with a win. We look forward to using what we learned today against Milton and Miss Porters this weekend in our home gym.
