The Big Green had a strong start vs. Westminster in the first Wednesday game of the season, creating several offensive opportunities in the opening minutes of the game. Bailey Cheetham ‘19 put the Big Green ahead 1-0 in the 4^th minute of the game off of a cross from Brenna Hoar ‘18. Deerfield continued the offensive pressure in the first half while, goalkeeper Valerie Hetherington ’19 and the defense held Westminster scoreless in the opening 40 minutes.

Westminster scored 2 goals at the beginning of the second half to put them ahead 2-1. The Big Green collectively showed their resiliency and continued to battle for the equalizing goal which came at around the 70^th minute of the game. Center back, Ali Dougal ’18 collected a ball close to midfield and shot from range sending the equalizing goal over the goalkeepers head and into the back of the net. The Big Green will travel to Exeter this Saturday for their first road game of the season.
