Boys Jr. A Soccer tied Taft 2-2

Boys Jr. A tied a well-coached Taft squad 2 – 2 in the late September heat today. The first half was fairly quiet, as DA maintained possession for the majority of the half. Jason Liu ‘19 and Merritt Wurts ‘21 both had strong attempts on goal, as Seth Blain ‘20 and Tommy Gilmore ’20 kept the ball out of the backfield. After the half, Taft scored a quick goal on a breakaway, and followed it up with a goal from a well struck corner kick to take a 2-0 lead. Reenergized, DA came back strong as Colin Olsen ‘19 sent a long direct kick into the top right corner from beyond the box. DA continued to push, and were rewarded as Elliot Flagg ‘20 sent in the tying goal with ten minutes to play. A final shot that would have sealed the game rom Connor Guest ‘20 bounced off the side of the goal, and the game was called just a few minutes later.
